Club Car Delivers Wide Range of Solutions That Enhance the Game for Our Customers and Consumers

AUGUSTA, GA – Combining a quality-driven philosophy, an innovative spirit and a solutions-oriented approach to business, Club Car (www.clubcar.com) has established itself as one of the leading brands in golf.  The company’s driving force for nearly 50 years has been a commitment to the highest quality golf, utility and transportation vehicles that enhance the enjoyment of the game for millions of golfers while helping course owners and managers operate more efficiently.

Founded in 1958 in Houston, Texas, Club Car moved to Augusta in 1962.  Ingersoll Rand (NYSE: IR, www.irco.com), a diversified multinational manufacturer of industrial and commercial equipment and components, acquired the company in 1995.  Club Car employs more than 1,400 people worldwide and has a presence in more than in 120 countries.

The company’s latest innovations include the Precedent golf car and the IQ Plus system for electric utility vehicles. Precedent was introduced in early 2004. Precedent sets a new standard for performance, styling and comfort in a golf car that has almost as much in common with the family automobile as it does anything that ever transported golfers down a fairway. Responding to the success of the IQ System in its industry-leading fleet golf cars, Club Car is incorporating an enhanced version of the high-performance power source into more of its turf utility and multi-passenger transportation vehicles for the 2006 model year. Known as IQ Plus, the powertrain enables electric utility vehicles to handle many of the same tough jobs that once required the strength of gasoline-powered vehicles.

Club Car vehicles are produced here at a 400,000 square-foot headquarters plant, which has been transformed with a new multi-million dollar production line focused on ensuring consistent quality and reliability.  In addition to golf cars, Club Car also manufactures a full line of turf maintenance and utility vehicles as well as hospitality and mobile merchandising vehicles.

Reinforcing its commitment to customer needs, Club Car introduced the Club Car Solutions Network™ in 2002.  An alliance of leading providers of complementary products and services, the Solutions Network is designed to help golf course customers increase revenues and control costs.

Club Car’s commitment to the game is evidenced in its support of a number of events, associations and causes.  The company is a sponsor of The First Tee initiative and the PGA Club Professional Championship.  Club Car is also the official golf car of the PGA TOUR and the official golf car and utility vehicle of the European Tour.
