CMAA BMI Information

Business Management Institute Programs

Business Management Institute is a university-based education program fundamental to the certification program. 

Core BMI programs required for the CCM designation are

  • BMI Club Management
  • BMI Leadership Principles
  • BMI General Manager/Chief Operating Officer (coming to Toronto January 2018)
  • BMI Food and Beverage Management OR
  • BMI Golf Management

The Joe Perdue Certification Review Course is optional and offered by CMAA annually in April and November at Georgia State University in Atlanta, Georgia to assist those preparing to challenge the CCM Exam.

BMI Programs required for Honour Society status and the Certified Chief Executive (CCE) designation:

  • BMI Tactical Leadership
  • BMI Strategic Leadership

Other BMI electives include:

  • BMI International (held in alternate years - next one scheduled for the fall of 2018)

Schedules and Registration

CSCM offers one of the core BMI programs required for the CCM annually in January-February in partnership with Ryerson University. Check the Professional Development Calendar of Events for dates and details.

For information on CMAA schedules and registration, please see the CMAA website.  CSCM members have access to these courses at CMAA member rates.  Log on to the CMAA web site as a CSCM member - see CMAA Member Services for username and password on the secure side of this site.

Members completing a BMI through CMAA, must provide the CSCM National Office with the written confirmation received from CMAA in order for the certification credits to be added to their membership profile. Should you only receive a plaque from CMAA, please notify the CSCM National Office and we will contact CMAA for additional confirmation.

CSCM Financial Assistance
