The CCM Exam

For CCM candidates desiring an in-depth review of the ten competency areas of club management, a Certification Review Course is offered twice per year by the CMAA. This concentrated five-day course is given at Georgia State University in Atlanta each November and during the five days immediately prior to each CMAA World Conference on Club management at the Conference site. At both offerings, the CCM exam is given on the day following completion of the course.

Any fees required to take this course will be the responsibility of individual members. CSCM may, where numbers warrant, offer the review course as part of the CSCM National Conference. Please contact the CSCM National Office for further details.

Candidates choosing not to take the Certification Review Course may have the exam administered by proctor at a college or university near the individualís home or club. Administration costs related to individual proctoring of the exam will be borne by the member. Suggestions for making arrangements for a proctored exam are included with each candidateís response to his/her Certification Petition.

The CCM Exam may be offered, where numbers warrant, in conjunction with each CSCM National Conference or in conjunction with CSCM Regional Seminars.

The Certification Exam

The final requirement for certification is to pass the CCM exam, which requires an overall score of 70 per cent or higher, with a score of 50 per cent or higher on each of the nine parts of the exam. The exam consists of 400 objective questions covering the nine (9) core competency (identified above). Candidates who do not pass the exam on the first attempt are limited to two attempts in any calendar year.

Once the member has confirmed his/her choice of date and location for the exam, an application form must be sent to National Office which then forwards it to the CMAA together with the exam fee which CSCM pays on behalf of the member.
